University of Wisconsin - Marshfield/Wood County

The Marauder Women’s Basketball Team had an excellent season. They posted a 16-6 overall record. They won the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference Western Division with an 8-1 conference record. Marshfield hosted the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference Tournament at the end of the year. Marshfield defeated Marinette in the semi-finals and then lost to UW-Waukesha in the championship game. The Marauders then lost to UW-Marathon in the regional finals, ending a very successful season.

Rachel Prokopiak was selected 1st team All-State and All-WCC; Amber Barlow was also 1st team All-State and 2nd team WCC. Lorie Hansen was Honorable Mention at WCC.

Coach Lori Galetka is in her first year as head Women’s Basketball Coach. She was the assistant for the Marauders for two previous seasons. Lori is also in her fourth year as the head Volleyball Coach. Her teams have been to state four years in a row and they have won two State Championships and 3 Western Division Championships. Three out of the last four years, her team has produced the Player of the Year, as voted by the coaches in the conference.) Lori has previously coached volleyball and basketball at the junior and senior high school level in Wisconsin Rapids. Lori has a B.S. from UW-Stevens Point with a major in physical education and a minor in recreation.
