The circulation desk is located to the right as you enter the library. Here you can check materials in or out and pay fines and fees. You can also receive information about all library services.
The physical library houses approximately 18,000 volumes arranged according to the Library of Congress System. We have access to millions more as part of the UW Systems Libraries. Recently we have acquired a good selection of E-books as well. There is a 28-day loan period for circulating books. Reference materials must be used in the Library.
We currently subscribe to a limited number of magazines and journals, primarily for leisure reading. They circulate for a 2 week period.
We currently have the Marshfield News Herald and Wisconsin State Journal in house. Many, many others are available through our e-resources.
Over 2,000 CDs, ranging in genre from musicals to alternative to pop. We remain mostly classical music with many hard to find items.
CDs – 2 week loan.
DVDs - 2 week loan.
Items placed on reserve are checked out with your UW-M/WC I.D. at the Circulation Desk in the Library. Scanner is available for use at no cost. Individual instructors select the loan period for reserves:
- 2 Hour/No Overnight (Overdue fine: $1/hour) around the clock
- 1-Day & 3-Day (Overdue fine: $1/day)
Laptop Computers are available for current UW-Marshfield/Wood County students to check out. They circulate for 3 calendar days and are due at 9 AM the day due. Laptop fines are $5 per day and run daily (including weekends).
Renewals are generally permitted and encouraged as necessary. If materials are late, however, the fine varies based on the type of material and circulation period. You can avoid fines by returning materials before they become overdue. Patrons could also be charged for excessive and/or deliberate damage to library materials. Certain services (including interlibrary loan) are not available to a patron with outstanding fines or overdue materials.
