Dan and Cindy Burns

Dan & Cindy Burns have owned Burns Insurance Agency LLC since 2000.  Burns Insurance provides its services to a variety of business, auto, home, farm, life, health, long term care, annuities, and employee benefits to clients in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Arizona. Dan along with his wife, Cindy, has earned the prestigious Best Practices Certification from the Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin located in Madison. Both have earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Professional Insurance Agency (CPIA) designations.

Dan & Cindy firmly believe that as good stewards of the community, it is their responsibility to give back to the community to make it a better place to live and work.  Dan along with his wife, Cindy, was honored to have been selected as the 2006 Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s “Entrepreneurs of the Year”.  They also Co-Chaired the 2004 United Way Campaign raising over $888,000.  Dan & Cindy has over the years served on several boards & committees including the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International,  Downtown Business Association,  Big Brothers/Big Sisters, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Marshfield Area United Way, The University Foundation Board, Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin Board, and the Financial Advisory Council for the Diocese of LaCrosse Catholic Area Schools.  Dan and Cindy are founding members of the “NSACE” National Society of Agents for Consumer Education. Both are now involved with the Independents Insurance Agents of Wisconsin; Cindy serves on the board of directors and Dan serves on the Government Affairs committee. 

 It is with great honor to be asked to join Melissa and Thomas Reichert as co-chairs of the STEM Capital Campaign for the UW-Marshfield/Wood County.

 

Melissa and Thomas Reichert

Melissa and Thomas Reichert are pleased to be joining Dan and Cindy Burns as co-chairs of the STEM Capital Campaign.  Lifelong residents of Wood County, Wisconsin both Thomas and Melissa understand the value of quality education for our residents and the need to create a skilled workforce for employers.  The STEM project at UW-Marshfield/Wood County allows the pair to focus on enhancing an asset that is vital to our economic success as a region. 

Thomas serves as Wood County Sheriff and has dedicated his 33 year career to the protecting the residents of Wood County.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Bachelor Degrees in Management and Criminal Justice. Melissa is the president of the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce and has Master Degrees in Business Administration and Public Health Administration and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. 

They value community and are proud to serve on the board of directors for many organizations including Wood County Head Start, The Boyscouts of America Samoset Council, Centergy, and Farm Technology Days.
