Campaign for the Grand
The UW-Marshfield/Wood County grand pianos were built during World War II, a time in which Steinway had to use sub-standard materials because prime materials all went to the war effort. A new grand piano is needed for choral rehearsal and performances in the Helen Connor Laird Theatre. The instruments are worn out due to age; they will not stay in tune, the tone quality is poor, and the action on the instruments is not anywhere close to Steinway’s standards.
In light of this we are seeking 88 “key” donors to help fund the new piano. Patrons can show their appreciation and help continue the legacy of great musical performances at UW-Marshfield/Wood County. All donors will be recognized on a plaque that will be placed in the theatre lobby.
