Campaign for the Grand
The UW-Marshfield/Wood County grand pianos were built during World War II, a time in which Steinway had to use sub-standard materials because prime materials all went to the war effort. A new grand piano was needed for choral rehearsal and performances in the Helen Connor Laird Theatre. In light of this we saught 88 “key” donors to help fund the new piano. Patrons were able to show their appreciation and help continue the legacy of great musical performances at UW-Marshfield/Wood County.
All donors will be recognized on a plaque that will be placed in the theatre lobby. A dedication for the new Bosendorfer Grand Piano will be held during the Symphony Orchestra and Concert Choir concert on May 7.
