Carrie Shipers is an Assistant Professor of English and comes to the campus from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was a lecturer.

Shippers earned her MA from University of Missouri-Columbia, her Master of Fine Arts from The Ohio State University and Ph.D. from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Carrie Shipers’s poems have appeared in Connecticut Review, Crab Orchard Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Laurel Review, New England Review, North American Review, and other journals.  She is the author of two chapbooks, Ghost-Writing (Pudding House, 2007) and Rescue Conditions (Slipstream, 2008), and a full-length collection, Ordinary Mourning (ABZ, 2010). 

“I'm looking forward to spending more time in the classroom and being part of the vibrant campus community,” Shipers said.
