Marketing Intern (Internship) - Northstar Hydrographic Supply

Northstar Hydrographic Supply (NHS) and NEWLIMBITS are looking for an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial minded marketing intern with creative ideas, to join our team and help achieve our goals.

NHS develops, manufactures and distributes water transfer film (hydrographic film) and related supplies to the outdoor and automotive industries (think Mathew’s Archery and the Fast & Furious franchise!).

Similarly, NEWLIMBITS develops, manufactures and distributes heat transfer paper to the orthotic and prosthetic (medical) industry; known for our fun pediatric designs and life-like skin tone papers.

We’re offering flexible hours, with the opportunity to work remotely part-time. This is an unpaid internship. Inquire for details.

Main Duties & Tasks

  • Contribute to website management
  • Create content for company social media accounts, and organize cross-platform content strategies
  • Monitor social media channels for trending news and ideas; and capitalize on those trends through company social media accounts
  • Perform market analysis and research on competition
  • Help prepare and distribute marketing materials (flyers, sample packs, etc.)
  • Organize marketing events
  • Prepare promotional presentations
  • Support the team in daily administrative tasks and with order fulfillment, as needed

Skills & Requirements  

  • Must be enrolled in a university or college, in a related field
  • Experience with and understanding of social media platforms
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (i.e. Wix, online analytics and Google Adwords)
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Hardworking and dedicated outlook
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
  • Experience with content creation a plus, even if not professionally

Public Relations and Events Assistant (Internship) - Opportunity Development Center

Our public relations and fund programs raise awareness and funds to support our mission: to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals.

Hours: 20 – 25 hours per week (flexible)

Reports to: Director of Community and Donor Relations

Start Date: ASAP

Position Description: Program assistant will support ODC’s Public Relations and Fund Development staff by assisting in development and implementation of special events and informational programs throughout the community (70%). Clerical duties (30%) will include working within the organizational database, mailings and general assistance.

Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Efficient and organized, with excellent planning and follow-through skills.
Enthusiasm for working in the non-profit sector.
Must have transportation, as travel to ODC’s Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids offices will be required.

Service Analysis Intern - Opportunity Development Center

Position Description: Services Intern will support ODC’s Services staff by assisting in analyzing, developing and implementing  program evaluation and effectiveness/efficiency projects (70%). Clerical duties (30%) will include working with reports, developing documentation to support efficiency and assist with quality record reviews.

Qualifications:

Efficient and organized, with excellent planning and follow-through skills.

SharePoint Web Designer (Internship) - Opportunity Development Center

Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. (ODC) is a not-for-profit organization serving individuals with disabilities in Central Wisconsin. The IT Team supports ODC’s mission by supplying the necessary tools for Job Coaches and Case Managers in helping them to keep the time they spend on paperwork to a minimum.  The Job Coaches and Case Managers are entrusted with the positions of empowering our clients with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals.  The IT Team ensures that they can accomplish this as efficiently as possible.

Hours: 15-20 hours per week (flexible)

Reports to: Network Administrator

Start Date: ASAP

Position Description: The SharePoint Web Designer will assist ODC’s IT Team in creating an intranet based web design in SharePoint and create the web interfaces for an online version of our current Access databases. Creating these interfaces will assure our support people in the field have online access to the information that they need and will also be able to update the data in a timely manner.

This position could work at our Park Ridge office or from a home with internet access.

Qualifications:
Education in Web design and SharePoint management
Well-rounded knowledge of Microsoft Access and database management
Efficient and organized, with excellent planning and follow-through skills.

CommunityConnect Intern - Opportunity Development Center

Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. (ODC) is a not-for-profit organization serving individuals with disabilities in Central Wisconsin. CommunityConnect Services are community based groups designed to support our mission: to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals.

Hours: 20 – 25 hours per week (flexible)

Reports to: Director of Community and Day Services

Start Date: ASAP

Position Description:

CommunityConnect Intern will assist Instructors with implementing community based groups which assist people with getting connected to their community through leisure activities. Also implementing volunteer groups which assist people with gaining job skills for community employment. As well, the intern will assist the Connector with planning groups in the community and working with individuals to promote independence and a connection to their community.

Qualifications:
Experience and/or a desire to work directly with people with developmental disabilities.
Efficient and organized, with excellent planning and follow-through skills.
Enthusiasm for working in the non-profit sector.
Must have transportation, as travel to ODC’s Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids offices will be required.

Communication/Marketing Intern - National Farm Medicine Center, Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation

Company: National Farm Medicine Center, Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation http://www3.marshfieldclinic.org/nfmc/. The Farm Center conducts research, delivers health and safety information, and uses innovative service models to improve human health and safety in agriculture. The student will be mentored by the Farm Center’s Communications Specialist, but could interact with any of the Center’s dozen scientists and staff.

Possible tasks: Depending on the student’s interests and skills, he/she could engage in activities such as:

  • Enhance Farm Center news releases with multi-media.
  • Plan and launch an Instagram presence for the Farm Center.
  • Conduct “social listening” to measure impact of the Center’s social media efforts; identify “opinion leaders” and optimize our “follower – following ratio”
  • Plan and initiate a year-long calendar of posts for the center’s established social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube).
  • Produce and post videos on the Farm Center’s YouTube channel.
  • Produce written content for various platforms.
  • Work on our Technical Assistance database (inputting, culling, managing)
  • Participate in planning and staffing Farm Center outreach events in Wisconsin.

Skills: The successful candidate will possess at least a couple of the following skills -- Photoshop, basic video editing, Google analytics, photography, journalistic reporting/writing, MS Excel, search engine optimization, Web page content management, project management.

An office and computer access will be available at the National Farm Medicine Center, Laird Building, however the student may work remotely.

Community Connections Team - Community Health Worker Volunteers 

What is Community Connections Team? A program that goes beyond the walls of the health care clinic and helps patients connect with community resources to meet their basic needs including: caregiver support, childcare, clothing, dental care, food assistance, fuel/utility costs, job search, health care costs, housing, medication costs and transportation. 

What do Community Health Workers (student and community volunteers) do? Work side-by-side with patients to prioritize basic needs, locate and connect patients with community resources to be healthy and provide follow-up to assure patients are connected with the correct resources.

Taylor County - Energy Assistance Worker

The Energy Assistance Worker processes applications, according to policies and procedures to determine eligibility for the Wisconsin Heating Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP). Other duties include handling crisis and furnace calls, conducting home visits, performing outreach at county sites, developing payment plans, reviewing WHEAP reports and identifying and reporting suspected fraud. Confidentiality of all department and client matters is required.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and two years of office experience. Must be organized, able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and knowledgeable in computer software. Applicant must complete mandatory WHEAP Intake training. Must possess a valid driver's license.

UW-Eau Claire - 2 Positions 

Nursing: Academic Department Associate 

Full-time university staff position available at the UW-Eau Claire Marshfield Nursing campus beginning in October, 2018. Duties include: support person for the Nursing program at the Marshfield Site. Starting wage will be $15.42 or more based on prior experience with spreadsheets, word processing, databases and internet, as well as strong written/oral communication skills and organizational skills. Preferred: Bachelor's degree and work experience in higher education. Priority deadline: September 24, 2018.

Nursing: Tenure Track Faculty - Medical-Surgical or Maternal-Child Nursing

This dynamic Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position in Marshfield requires a Doctoral degree by the start of the contract. A current RN license in the US and eligibility for WI licensure is also required. Priority deadline: October 15, 2018.
