The process for admission to UW-Marshfield/Wood County is a simple one.
Upon receipt of all the necessary documents and
information to render a decision concerning your admission, we will notify you of our
decision within TWO WEEKS.
STEP 1. Contact Us
Contact the Student Services Office by calling (715)
389-6530 or e-mail us at msfadmit@uwc.edu. We will
send you a University of Wisconsin System Application for Undergraduate Admission and the
materials you will need to familiarize yourself with our campus.
We can also arrange day or evening appointments for you to
visit the campus, take a tour and meet with an admissions counselor who can answer any
questions you may have concerning your college plans. If you decide to visit the campus,
you are welcome to invite family or friends to accompany you.
If you are still in High School, you may first wish to
discuss your college interests with your high school counselor who will have UW
applications and information about our campus.
STEP 2.
Complete an Application
(a) IF YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT, submit
the UW application and the current application fee to your high school counselor who will
forward it to the Student Services Office with your official high school transcript and
your American College Testing (ACT) scores.
(b) IF YOU ARE NO LONGER IN HIGH SCHOOL, return the UW
application and the current application fee to the Student Services Office. Contact your
former high school and request that a copy of your official high school transcript be
forwarded to the Student Services Office. If you have earned a GED, have your scores
forwarded to the Student Services Office.
(c) IF YOU ARE TRANSFERRING: The nonrefundable application fee of $44
is required for most degree-seeking students applying to a UW System
institution. The fee is not required if your last institution attended
was a two-year UW Colleges (freshman/sophomore campus). The fee is
required if you are transferring between four-year campuses. The fee
is good for one year (two semesters and a summer session). A separate
check or money order, payable to the University of Wisconsin, must
accompany each application. Do Not Send Cash.
(d) If you want to apply as a SPECIAL NON-DEGREE SEEKING
STUDENT, return the application to the Student Services Office. Under this classification,
you may enroll for up to six credits of coursework before you have to submit any previous
educational records. (If you are
still in high school, you must apply as a high school special as explained in (e) below.)
(e) If you want to apply as a HIGH SCHOOL
SPECIAL STUDENT (a student taking courses while still in high school), return the
application to the Student Services Office, along with your high school transcript and a
letter of recommendation from your high school principal or counselor. If you are a high
school student applying under the Youth Options (YO) Program,
consult your high school counselor for additional stipulations.
You may also Apply
On-Line and submit your application electronically
to any of the 26 institutions of the UW System.
The current application fee is $35.00.
STEP 3. Take the ACT
TAKE the ACT and have your scores forwarded to the Student
Services Office. Registration materials are available from high school guidance offices
and from the Student Services Office. (If you are registering as a special student OR if
you are 21 years of age or older, you do not need to submit ACT scores.)
