Just ask Sam
Sam Porten
(Medford High School, Class of 07) is starting at UW-SP this
fall with junior status as a music major.
"My classes
transferred without a problem," Sam said. "I was accepted into
the (UW-SP) school of music. I'm majoring in music with
either a vocal performance or choral education focus."
Sam was able to
get his general degree requirements out of the way by taking
those courses - science, math, English, etc. - here at
UW-Marshfield/Wood County. He was also able to take music
theory, ear training and choir. He's on track to join his
fellow music majors at UW-SP.
"I started at
UW-Marshfield/Wood County because tuition was a lot lower and I
was able to live at home and save money. It was a smoother
transition from high school because of the small classes and
personal attention I received from my professors at "The Wood."
