Profile of Students

The student body at the UW-Marshfield/Wood County is diverse. Students range from high school students who are dual-enrolled in university classes, to retirees taking classes for a degree or personal enrichment. About 65 percent of students are traditional students who have enrolled immediately after completing high school or who are transfers from another college.

The remaining 35 percent are adults who have been out of school for some time and are either entering college for the first time or returning to college following a hiatus. Most of our adult students are employed full- or part-time. To better serve their needs, we provide both day and evening degree programs.

We serve students of all races and nationalities, from international students recently arrived from other countries to students whose families have lived in central Wisconsin for many generations. This diversity gives our students an opportunity to explore and interact with a variety of cultures and viewpoints as part of their college experience.
