Position Description:

Department of Business and Economics invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Business and Economics at the UW-Marshfield/Wood County. This is a dual position which requires the ability to teach both principles of economics courses and courses in business. As a transfer institution of the University of Wisconsin System the UW Colleges consists of 13 campuses located throughout the Wisconsin which offer freshman and sophomore instructions in the liberal arts and pre-professional areas such as Business. The Marshfield campus is located in a community which is home to the 4th largest private medical clinic in the country, a facility which also houses an extensive research foundation providing research opportunities for students and faculty. The campus serves approximately 600 students and provides the surrounding community with continuing education, cultural and arts programming. Qualifications:
PhD in Economics preferred. Masters Degree in Economics with two graduate level courses in accounting; or M.B.A. with the CPA/CMA with Graduate courses in Micro and Macro economics will be considered. Candidates who meet the qualifications to teach in one discipline may be considered contingent upon their willingness to successfully complete the necessary graduate course work in the other discipline during their first two years of probationary appointment. The successful candidate will be able to teach at least five of the following courses: Introduction to Economics; Principles of Micro/Macro Economics, Introductory Accounting, and Managerial Accounting. Ability and willingness to teach other business courses, or computer applications is desirable; interest and/or experience in using instructional technology and distance education including Online, teaching in interdisciplinary teams, and working with the local business community a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with successful college teaching experience.
 
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach an average of twelve credit hours each semester in economics and business, with the option to teach junior and/or senior level courses in a Collaborative Bachelors Degree in Organizational Administration offered at Marshfield campus through UW-Stevens Point. To receive tenure in the UW Colleges, faculty members are expected to establish a record of excellence in teaching, a strong record of professional development appropriate for a 2-year liberal arts transfer institution, and provide institutional and community service.
 
Salary:
$42,000 minimum with an outstanding benefits package, see www.uwsa.edu/hr/benefits. Summer session offers additional opportunities for compensation.
